Hi Massimo & Cecilia Merry Christmas and a good new year for you and your family. You may not remember us but we enrolled in your cooking class and had lunch with you and your two children one afternoon in the fall several years ago (2002). We were with a group called Untours and were staying in Bonconvento. We see from your website that your restaurant and inn have grown and you are successful. For dinner this holiday, we are cooking Maiale ubriaco from your recipe- How much fennel seed did you put into it for 2 pounds of pork? Thanks in advance |

Greeting from the USA Yes we have fond memories of the day with you…. Like I said I really enjoyed myself that day and over all had a great time on vacation. My grandfather on my mom’s side came from Italy when he was very young, but I did not know much about him or his family…. so it was good to see the country where I have some roots. I worked 12 hours yesterday, Saturday, and put some pictures together to be put into a book of our vacation and I have attached them for you to look at. There are many more but these are the ones of your place… I will send more later if you like… Take care and please keep in touch… Bernie

Buongiorno Cecilia e Massimo; You may recall our 17 year old son Harris who attending your cooking class in July. Last Sunday he recreated your feast for us, including the hand made pasta. It was a fabulous meal!! We were delighted that he learned the skills, and was inspired by your class. Needless to say, that was one of his highlights of our 3 1/2 week holiday in Italy! Grazie tanto! |

I have been in the food and beverage business for 32 years. One hour of the class was devoted to an explanation of local tuscan wines and olive oils (while are meat simmered). Sommelier Massimo taught me more in that one hour than I had previously learned from many visits to vineyards and from my wine reps. Chef Cecilia took us through 3 courses of true tuscan cooking. The class was more about cooking than technique. It was fun! Cecilia’s easy going manner kept everyone at ease and at the end we sat and enjoyed the meal that we had prepared. Cecilia and Massimo are generous with their time and the wine. I would go again in an instant. How did trip meet expectations?: exceed |

My friend Cathy and I had a wonderul experience with Cecilia and Massimo at La Gramola. We did indeed gain some new culinary knowledge and skills, and in general, really enjoyed the hands of nature of the cooking class. Additionally, and as equally important, we found our hosts/teachers to be knowledgeable, personable and quite open to giving all they could to us as their students. We are leaving our tomato stained aprons as they are (at least for the time being) as tangible reminders of that special day. We regard the class to be one of the high points of our two weeks in Italy, which is saying quite a lote, given the incredible trip that it was for both of us! We also consider ourselves fortunate to have met and spent time with Cecilia and Massimo and hope to visit them again at La Gramola in the future. |
